According to Queensland Government law a safety certificate is needed when buying or selling a car, transferring to a new owner and when re-registering a vehicle.

We can provide safety certificates for:

‌ Light vehicles

Before we issue a safety certificate, we must ensure we do a check over the following to ensure it meets vehicle safety standards, such as:

If any of these are not met to a satisfactory standard it may not pass the inspection until any issues are rectified.

A safety certificate is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle. If you are buying a used vehicle come and let us do a complete mechanical inspection which is also known as a pre purchase inspection to ensure you have peace of mind with your new purchase.
